They dry to very hard films and will cup and loose adhesion when applied over flexible substrates such as canvas posterboard, and some plastics. Sample boards should be prepared on rigid supports such as Masonite, plywood, thin sheetrock, and heavier gauge polystyrene. Application over extremely absorbent surfaces will mute the cracking pattern and cupping of the islands or platelets may occur. Differences in the cracking patterns will be observed over different sheens and brands of base paint. Always keep base preparation consistent from sample to jobsite to ensure reliable performance.
